What Is Transactional SMS?

Transactional SMS carries information a customer needs rather than marketing: one-time passwords, payment and account alerts, order and delivery updates, appointment reminders and service notices. It can be sent 24x7, is delivered to numbers registered on the DND list, and must not contain promotional content.

Under TRAI's DLT framework these messages fall into two categories. The Transactional category is reserved for banks and financial institutions, for OTPs and transaction alerts; KAPSYSTEM's clients include banks and NBFCs that send on this route.
